Microdermabrasion removes the layers of dead skin cells so that the underlying skin is much more receptive and can absorb our fabulous products a lot deeper, which gives better results. I try to have it done at least once a month—my skin feels really good and looks a lot brighter afterwards.

Sunburn and microdermabrasion
I have a microdermabrasion appointment scheduled for the end of this month. I just got a very bad sunburn on my face which is not blistered but red and sore. Should I change my crystal clearing appointment to an oxygen blast??

Sunburns can not only cause skin cancer, but they will-- in time-- lead to wrinkles. If you're doing your skin the service of microdermabrasion, don't be wasting your wages by exposing your face to UV rays. No more sun. The anatomy of a burn is such that available water molecules have been taken out of the surface layers of your skin. If you top off the irritation with a microdermabrasion, not only will your epidermis get even more dehydrated, you may chance that it comes off in chunks. You should switch your Bliss spa treatment to an O2 Blast, which not only holds in hydration, it heals. You can follow up at home with a twice weekly mask (try Bliss Triple Oxygen™ Instant Energizing Mask) for more moisture.
