Applying make up to dull, flakey skin adds 5 years to your face. After cleansing, exfoliate to get rid of dead skin that makes for uneven make up application and finish with toner and moisturizer and wait 1-2 minutes before applying makeup for glowing results.

How do you clean makeup brushes?

I've always found that since makeup brushes are made from, generally, one of many types of hair (or taklon, in some cases), the best way to clean them out is to use-- no surprise here-- shampoo. Once a week, take your brushes into the shower with you, and gently swish them around in a puddle of shampoo until no more traces of colour are washed out. (You can skip the conditioner, the finishing rinse, all that other stuff.) After foaming and rinsing, gently press out the excess water, and leave the newly rinsed brushes to dry on a countertop or table. Again, I'd recommend a good brush bath once a week, to prevent bacteria buildup, and to ensure clean colour on application.
